Official Website Launch!

You guys, the time has officially come!! Savannarose.co is something my heart has been set on for 3-4 years now and I am so happy it’s finally up and running! I wanted this first post to be a way for you to get to know me better and realize that I’m not just another online “certified” personal trainer (emphasis on those quotation marks because a lot of online trainers are not even certified) trying to convince you to buy my new workout guide and promise immediate success. I'm here to help educate you, inspire you, and set you up for long-term success. Basically, I'm here to promote and help guide you towards a healthy lifestyle of happiness, activity, and balance, because what fun is a life full of restrictions, amiright?!

This whole dream came about when I was 19 years old, just a freshman in college and fascinated with this whole idea of “food blogging” that was starting to become more popular. You see, I had been thin my entire life. I even had to drink a supplement called Boost to help me gain weight when I was in middle school. You can imagine my surprise when I got to college and suddenly put on 10 pounds for the first time in my life. Probably from a combination of growing "older", the stress of going away to college, and the unregulated diet I adopted while at college all contributed to this weight gain, and I was not exactly happy about it.

Thankfully, I was a total Tumblr and Pinterest geek back then, and followed every health blogger out there. I started to self-educate myself through health blogs and was seeing results. I decided that I wanted to be as fit as them, whatever it took. This led to a desire to compete in a bikini competition, full of restrictive dieting and workout regimens. I learned a heck of a lot from that experience, good and bad, which is part of what encouraged me to get certified in mind-body eating (the psychology behind eating). I'll probably write an entirely separate blog post later to go more in depth about my competition experience, so be on the lookout for that.

I also developed a desire to do what these health bloggers did for a living. I imagined it looked something like this: wake up without an alarm clock every day of the week, get in a good workout sesh without any time constraints like “oh crap, I have to be back to work in 15 minutes,” and then wear a robe and put a face mask on for the rest of the day while not having to speak to a single soul, except virtually of course, just blogging away and taking pictures of all the yummy food. FYI This sounds like every introvert’s dream, so yes, it was extremely enticing to start a career like this. Besides all of the glamorous introvert aspects of the job, I’ve known since I was young that whatever I did with my life had to involve helping people, because let’s be real, if you’re not making a difference (no matter how big or how small) in the world, what are you even doing here?

Needless to say, I’ve wholeheartedly pursued this “dream job” of mine since then and haven’t looked back once. Being a trainer has a lot of pros and a lot of cons, but I am so thankful to get to do what I love for a living! Besides coaching classes and personal training, I am a commercial model with a local agency here in Jacksonville, and am an influencer for different brands. I love creating content to showcase how awesome a certain product is! I always make sure to try out a product first to make sure it’s something I actually like/believe in before pushing promo codes on people and hyping it up. If I don’t like something, you’re not going to hear about it, scout’s honor.

For example, Ancient Nutrition is a brand I partner with and happens to be one of my favorite brands on the market right now. I use their protein powder and Keto capsules religiously.

On this blog, expect to see posts that have everything to do with health, fitness, nutrition, holistic alternatives, lifestyle, and mental health (something super underrated but oh-so important). As I previously stated, my main goal is to educate and inspire you to the best of my ability, and answer any questions that are legally in my scope of practice to answer! Via my website you’ll find my current class schedule I teach for all you local Jacksonvillians, as well as my in-person training rates. You’ll also find all you need to know about my distance programs such as online personal training, nutritional guidance, and lifestyle coaching. Each program I offer is specifically customized for you as an individual, NOT a generic plan - AKA Quicker, Better, Long-Term RESULTS!

In the mean time, to keep up with my latest posts, follow me on Instagram (IG handle below) if you're not already for updates! I hope this is the beginning of a long friendship with each and every one of you and I cannot wait to see what’s in store for 2018!

Lots of love,
Savanna
